Simplicity is the answer. I don't relish receiving graphics in my email body.

Why don't people just send plain text auto responder emails with hyperlinks to a webpage that will contain the said graphics???

Personally, plain text denotes being personal and direct whereas graphic rich newsletters represent the corporate, impersonal image.

I know of several IM-ers who send only plain vanilla and they make massive sales month after month. I guess we should all stop falling for the colourful marketing-speak of autoresponder services.

You know if the output of your email is generated dynamically I don't know why you couldn't get rid of the "counted as if two subscribers opened your newsletter" problem. This should be a very easy fix. Who ever created the system your using should have gotten past this problem.

i love google Adsense, it enables me to earn money on the websites and forums that i have put up several years ago. if you got tons of websites, you can earn a lot from Adsense alone

Yes open rates can be deceiving, therefore click rates are the true interest results, except for purchase. Images can be important to tempt further click through rate, and I do not think many people know how to stop images.

It doesn't seem real that it's been 21 years now. I graduated from college in 1989. It's astonishing. It was a day that will live in our memory thanks, in part, to Pres. Ronald Reagan.

Amazing how difficult the SEO topic is. We can get some keywords to the top in yahoo and bing, but google is a difficult beast to figure out. I appreciate info like this, and while we still haven't figured it all out, it certainly does help!

Open rates are overrated, but I also agree with Roman Grinblat above. I just wondered what you meant by unique image, exactly? I ask because my friend used a service for his email newsletter for subscribers where he would use photographers and graphic artists to create pictures for his newsletter. However, the images turned out to be in batches and were reproduced to many companies. How can you be sure to obtain unique content without signing some heavy legal agreement?

I think empty space can be wonderful just like sometimes silence is golden. Now days it seems like a lot of web designers are asking WWGD (what would Google do)? If Google likes it, then its good. So before I declare blank space as good, let me pass it by them first.

I give importance to the content first, as it should be very good and unique for attracting any visitor. On the contraty, you need to make a good design for generating any traffic to your content.

Comment on Why I Do Not Use FeedBurner by Matthew

Perhaps the best benefit of using a service like Feedburner is that you get an RSS URL that will never change. Once you pick your Feedburner URL, you can redirect any of your own URL’s to it, so that your readers only have to subscribe to your feed once. If you change blogging platforms, or if you change the RSS feed, this will never actually affect your readers. This is very vital for companies since it is possible to lose hundreds of readers with one feed address change.

You are so right, open rates are completely over rated. Now, much more important are click through rates, which are what you really want out of your email marketing.

I work for a school who uses Deep Freeze on the computers in our labs. I worked with this school before we started using Deep Freeze and what a fiasco it would be to try and keep the systems even somwhat similar. With Deep Freeze we do use antivirus software which gets all updates when booting in the thatwed state. With Deep Freeze we are able to do Windows updates from a Windows SUS server because Deep Freeze will boot the computer in Maintenance Mode in order for the computer to connect to the SUS Server in order to update. I have seen a few issues with Deep Freeze but for the most part it has been a product for us over the 6 o 7 years we have used it.

I'm wondering why you're still using junky antivirus and defender software when DeepFreeze makes its usage dispensable? That could have been the cause.

Also, once you installed something remember to restart your computer once again before putting it back into the frozen state, even if a certain installation doesn't require a restart.
