Imagine doctors tell you “you will never live independently again”. See what happened to Bill Cawley…
This tells me, again, to be aware of which messages we let into our life.

Thank you for posting this video. I can really relate. I broke my neck when I was 16 (also late August!) and I got very lucky. I was in intensive care for awhile, then in a Stryker bed for 6 weeks (they don’t use them anymore) then in a neck brace for another 6 weeks. My doctor was so good that I lead a pretty normal life today.
I just realized – that was almost 30 years ago!
I have only very minor problems associated with the broken neck.
My daughter just turned 25, I get around like everyone else (well, some new things are cropping up – only because i’m aging) and I live a basically normal life.
Things could have been so different for me – the other way, like Bill, I could have been confined to a wheelchair. And I would have been paralyzed from the NECK down.
I am SO LUCKY!
I need to remember that as I go about my day. The challenges I face now are certainly worthy – I need to bring a better attitude to the table with me to face them.
In Gratitude,
Pam Hoffman

That was a very inspirational video as he is quite the inspirational man. I just wish that it were easier to apply that to our daily lives all the time.
It’s always great to hear about people coming back from injuries like this.
Interesting story, Pam! It shows that “the end” that some folks want us to believe doesn’t really have to be there. We can still create our own reality.
And yes, you are not only lucky but strong, too.

Very interesting, and also very motivational. These stories allow us to reflect upon our own lives and be grateful
I remember when I was younger I was told by doctors I wouldn’t live past 13. I am going on 21 and pretty healthy.
